Requiremnts
The South Carolina Rose Center does not discriminate along racial, religious, or lifestyle lines: the main requirement for participation is an appreciation for your Irish heritage, along with the following:
Be between 18- and 30-years-old
Be female, and either have Irish heritage by virtue of your ancestors, or be born in Ireland and/or an Irish citizen
Have been living in the state of South Carolina for a minimum of one year
Never have previously represented any Center as a Rose at the International Rose of Tralee
Submit, or have a sponsor submit for you, a $250 application fee
A QUICK, SERIOUS NOTE
The South Carolina Rose Center works year round to recruit Rose Candidates, plan our Selection event, and to extend the reach of our Center across the state. We require nine Rose Candidates to hold our Selection: when you apply, we count you towards that magic number. If you apply and then drop out at the last minute, we will be forced to cancel our event and you will have prevented eight other women from participating in our Selection.
